We’ve hosted three guests in a group for 6 days and they are coming from different places such as Australia, San Francisco and New York.
The funny thing is , they met each other through a mutual friend who supposed to come to Japan together with them but unfortunately the friend couldn’t make it.
To my surprised, I observed they have an intimate friendship because they shared same interests in Japanese food and sweets.
So, I invited them to have a tea gathering and showed them how to make and how to drink a Macha tea.
Chelsea( the only girl in the group) was excited learning the tea ceremony since she already got Macha powder and some of the green tea things at a famous Japanese tea shop in Uji.
I’m happy that they had eaten 3 slices of roll cakes that I baked for the tea gathering.
And they told me “ this cake is worth to die for!”.
The new incident for us about our guests was they went to Kinosaki Onsen( a hot spring) for an overnight stay at a Ryokan during their stay here. That was kind of a double booking for them. How rich they were! Lol
I’m really grateful seeing our guests enjoyed Japanese culture such as taking a bath in Onsen , having tea ceremony, getting hair cut at Japanese Salon, attending Setsubun festival and eating Japanese food (Sushi , Ramen , Yakitori, Omurice , Sakura Mochi ).
And now, I’m sure they are having fun time at the Snow festival in Sapporo.
For Richard it would be the first snow experience. Very exciting !
To Charles, Richard and Chelsea,
thank you so much for your staying long and giving us Omiyage(souvenir) from Kinosaki Onsen. Also a thank you letter and chocolates from San Francisco that you left us. That was really appreciated!
Looking forward to our promise that you guys will bring the fourth member here next time.Have fun and enjoy the coldness in Sapporo.
Please take care and keep safe going back to your country!
