We’ve hosted a married couple from Canada whom we ‘ve waited for a long time.
The wife is a Japanese and she booked us through our mutual Japanese friend who lives in Toronto.

I’ve been keeping in touch with the wife about their trip plans in Kyoto and we also talked about something that happened in our past.
Even we haven’t met before but we found out that we have something in common like the way we live in Canada and we can really empathize to each other.

She said it was a little hard making a list for sightseeing places in Kyoto for 4 days since both of them have different nationality ( Japanese and Canadian).
Basically, they have different interests about places in Japan they wanted to visit.
However, it seemed their Kyoto plans went well.
They visited to the Golden temple, Nijo castle , Fushimi Inari , Sake district and Toei Kyoto Studio Park ( observe the filming of Samurai dramas).
They also went to our neighborhood craft beer bar which is a newly opened bar and they loved it.

Luckily, I had a chance to have a tea gathering with them also on their busy schedule and I asked them my top question.
“How you guys met each other?”
They laughed and said that everybody ask the same question for the first time.
I can’t share their private story here but they are a wonderful couple!

We appreciated our encounter and they came to our Inn in unexpected way.
Thank you for staying with us Kumiko san and Joe.
I hope we could see each other again.
Let’s keep in touch!
