Today, I attended an event named “Hinamatsuri” (Doll’s Festival) in Mukoushi.
It was like a shortwhile visit, looking around the doll’s displays along the street somewhere in the local hometown cafe or in bakery store.
Hinamatsuri is an occasion to pray for young girls’ growth and happiness and it is celebrated each year on the 3rd of March.
Most families who have daughters will display the dolls for the Doll’s Festival called Hinamatsuri.
The dolls depict the imperial court.
Usually, when a girl is born the grandparents would buy a Hinaningyo as a traditional gift for her.
I learned something new that we have different style of Hina-ningyo decoration depends on the area or prefectures.
In fact, some of the dolls made in Edo era ( way back 416 years ago)
it was totally old but it remains beautiful and in good shape since they repaired it.
I also made two paper craft Hina ningyo at the event so I will display them at my Inn.
Isn’t it cute?
I could say that Hinamatsuri festival is one of a kind especially for young girls.
Each one of us grew up playing with different types of dolls whether it made of paper crafts, silk cloth and so on.
Dolls bring joy to our childhood years.
